Aeroméxico says it will not fly out of Felipe Ángeles International Airport once complete

Mexico City, Mexico — Aeroméxico says they will not be one of the local airlines to fly out of the new Felipe Ángeles International Airport in Santa Lucía once it’s complete. The company says that their position on the airport has not changed.

“Our position has absolutely not changed,” said Christian Pastrana Macía, the director of Corporate Affairs of Aeroméxico who says the company intends to strengthen its presence at the Mexico City International Airport (AICM).

In October, Grupo Aeroméxico announced that as of December 11, as part of its growth strategy, the airline will have 20 daily national departures from Terminal 1 of the AICM , while continuing to operate its routes in Terminal 2.

Last month, both Volaris and Viva Aerobus said that they will operate from the Felipe Ángeles International Airport once it’s complete, which is set for March of 2022.
