Mexico City, Mexico — A woman and her boyfriend have been taken into custody for the murder of the woman’s husband. The dead man was the Director of La Salle University in Mexico City.
His wife, the Deputy Director of Human Capital at the same La Salle University, has been arrested in his death. On Wednesday, Areli N was arrested along with a man identified as her lover.
Mexico City’s head of Citizen Security, Omar García Harfuch, explained that the arrest of both occurred in the same area of the city but in two different operations. The pair were arrested after investigators analyzed city surveillance cameras that captured them on video.
The pair were videoed abandoning the car and leaving the Huichapan neighborhood where police located the dead body of Enrique Ramírez inside the trunk. The pair were seen hopping aboard a gray car which was used to flee the scene.
They were then captured on other city surveillance cameras walking the streets before entering a building in Tlalpan from where they were both eventually arrested after a Mexico City judge issued two arrest warrants.
