Puerto Aventuras, Q.R. — Two male subjects have been taken into police custody after a 30 kilometer chase along the Federal highway toward Tulum.
The chase began after police recieved a report of a targeted shooting against a female driver. Police say two men in a red car fired shots at the female driver of a gray vehicle while driving on the Federal Highway outside Puerto Aventuras Thursday morning.
The female driver was hit by one bullet in the left shoulder and rushed to a private clinic. In a press release, la Fiscalía General del Estado de Quintana Roo says the arrest of the two males occurred for the assault with a firearm against B.C.C., a representative of a union organization.
They report that two men made detonations against B.C.C. from a red vehicle. After a highway chase that lasted more than 30 kilometers, police arrested Roberto K and Fernando K for their alleged participation in the highway shooting.
Roberto K and Fernando K were captured during their flight to the municipality of Tulum and were made available to the Public Ministry, who will define their legal status.
The victim was taken to hospital for medical attention for an arm injury. She has already been discharged. Experts from various specialties processed the victim’s vehicle and identified at least six impacts.
