Youth treated for bullet wound to buttocks after firing at Cancun police

Cancun, Q.R. — Shots fired in SM 258 of Cancun had police on alert Tuesday. Patrolling officers who heard the sound of the gunfire were quickly able to determine where it came from.

As they neared the area, two men were seen fleeing on foot. One of those young men turned and aimed his gun at police, pulling the trigger at least once. Officers in the patrol unit returned fire, hitting the youth in the buttocks.

Arrested was 20-year-old Juan Carlos N and 21-year-old Jorge N. Jorge N was taken to hospital under police guard to have his bullet wound treated.

Police did not provide details as to what the pair were shooting at or running from when officers happened upon them. During their arrests, two guns were located and seized.
