Cancun, Q.R.– A young man died Saturday night after being lit on fire in a residential subdivision of Cancun. Witnesses told police that the man, who was in his 20s, was chased by a group through several streets in SM 107.
Police and forensic personnel responded to the 8:40 p.m. incident. They arrived in Paraiso Maya to find the young man laying face down behind a fenced area. He had suffered extensive burns.
Preliminary reports by witnesses said that upon catching up with him, the man was sprayed with gasoline and then set on fire. The area was cordoned off by municipal police for the removal of the body.
