Worker serious with 70 percent burns after paint pole makes contact with power lines

Cancun, Q.R. — Paramedics rushed a Cancun maintenance worker to hospital Saturday for burn treatment after being electrocuted. Emergency medical services was requested at an address in SM 67 after the man made contact with low hanging electric lines.

The accident happened on the roof of a private home the worker was painting. His extendable pole came into contact with overhead CFE lines, leaving him severely burned.

Cancun firemen were called to a home on Miguel Hidalgo Avenue to remove the man from the rooftop. He was transferred to hospital by a Civil Protection ambulance with burns to approximately 70 percent of his body.
