Cancun, Q.R. — Cancun firemen removed the body of a construction worker from a rooftop Wednesday. Police and paramedics were called when the man suffered a fatal electric shock.
The accident happened Wednesday afternoon where the man was working on top of a private home in SM 259. Emergency services were notified of the accident around 2:30 p.m. when the worker made contact with overhead power lines.
The construction worker was placing bricks inside metal support beams at the time of the accident. The man, of around 40, died by electrocution when he accidently stood up into the high voltage lines.
Cancun firemen were requested to remove his body from the second level of the home after his death was confirmed.

Civil Protection and Municipal Police cordoned off the area while they waited for the coroner. The worker, who has not been named, was identified at the scene by his wife.
