Cancun, Q. R. — The body of a woman was located early Tuesday morning. Her body was found around 3:00 a.m. near the entrance to the Tres Reyes neighborhood of Cancun.
The woman’s body was found after a residential report of gun fire. Police began a search of the area, finally locating the woman’s body next to a large pile of discarded cardboard. She was found shot and bound hand and foot.
The Forensic Medical Service team were called in for the removal of the body. She was admitted as a Jane Doe since the body was without identification.
A hand written message believed left behind by a criminal group was found near the body. The message was related to the non-payment of floor fees by “bars, cheap kitchens, carpentry shops, mechanical workshops…”
Authorities have not made a public comment.
