Cancun, Q.R. — A woman had to be removed from her crumpled car with the jaws of life after slamming into the base of concrete stairs belonging to a hotel. Cancun firemen were requested at the 3:00 a.m. scene Thursday in the Cancun Hotel Zone.
According to early information, the woman was driving on Kukulcán Boulevard when at Kilometer 11.5, she hit the base of a set of concrete stairs. It is not clear how the woman came to smash her car into the hotel’s stairs that lead to its lobby.
Police responding to the accident requested assistance from Cancun firemen who had to cut her out of the car since her legs were pinned under the steering wheel. She was taken to hospital along with her husband, who was the only other person in the car. The woman driving suffered serious injuries.
