Cancun, Q.R. — A woman was pronounced dead at the scene of an accident on Huayacán Avenue where she was hit by a dump truck. The woman, who had just left her work, was run over by the industrial vehicle Wednesday afternoon.
Eye witnesses told police the woman was driving her motorcycle behind the dump truck when she decided to pass. During the pass, the dump truck swerved, causing her to crash into the side of the vehicle.
The female driver of the motorcycle was thrown onto the side of the road where paramedics confirmed her death. The accident happened on Huayacán Avenue near an area that connects to the Chac Mool extension in Cancun.
Cancun Traffic officers arrived to cordon off the area and divert traffic while forensics removed the woman’s body.
