Wet roads and a lack of caution forces one truck into excavation hole

Cancun, Q.R. — Wet roads and a lack of caution has been blamed for a Monday morning accident that left one vehicle ditched. Traffic was backed up along Colosio Boulevard around 7:40 a.m. when two vehicles collided, forcing one into a ditch.

Speed and wet roads factored into two vehicle crash Monday morning.

City Transit officers were at the scene of the two truck crash where they located a small cargo vehicle nose down in a hole. The truck landed in the excavation hole after colliding with the side of a van.

While the driver of the van was able to remain on the road, the driver of the cargo truck was not as lucky. Traffic in the area was temporarily affected due to the arrival of tow trucks to remove the damaged vehicles.

According to available information, the driver of the van lost control due to speed and wet roads and collided with the cargo truck. Both vehicles were towed to the impound for the determination of responsibilities. There were no serious injuries reported.
