Cancun, Q.R. — A water truck with a detached front tire was left blocking morning traffic in the Cancun Hotel Zone Sunday. Cancun Tourist Police were on scene after motorist reports of the broken truck blocking the busy boulevard.
A loaded water truck was found blocking a lane with a flat back tire and a broken front tire in the Cancun Hotel Zone. The mishap was reported at 10:20 a.m. on Kukulcán Boulevard at kilometer 3.5 near Playa Las Perlas.
The driver of the truck suffered minor injuries and was treated on site by paramedics without needing to be taken to a hospital.
According to authorities, the accident occurred while he was traveling south along the boulevard when he lost control when his front passenger tire detached from the truck.
Elements of the Tourist Police closed one of the lanes of the boulevard while they waited for a tow truck to remove the water truck.
