Veracruz fugitive wanted for 2014 murder arrested in Cancun

Cancun, Q.R. — A suspect wanted for murder in Veracruz has been arrested in Cancun. On Sunday, Quintana Roo authorities participated in the arrest of Ulises “S” from his Cancun home.

The 44-year-old suspect was wanted for the 2014 murder of a woman in the city of Las Chopas, Veracruz. The woman he is accused of murdering, Leticia “E”, is his mother.

Ministerial Police arrested the fugitive on an outstanding warrant.

“Elements of the Ministerial Police of Las Choapas, Veracruz together with authorities from Cancun, Quintana Roo, arrested the subject identified as Ulises M.S., 44 years old, originally from Las Choapas, for the crime of feminicide against his mother named Leticia Sánchez Estrada in 2014,” the agency reported.

Ulises “S” was taken into custody from his home on calle Segunda Privada de Girasol in Cancun from where he ran a cell phone repair shop.

After his arrest, he was immediately transferred to the Duport Ostión Social Reintegration Center in Veracruz.
