Venezuelan pair stopped for drug possession found with 87 banks cards

Cancun, Q.R. — Two men arrested for drug possession were found to also be carrying 87 bank cards and three terminals. Police in Cancun said the two men remain in custody and are facing drug trafficking charges.

Police have identified Bercelio “N” and Yeison Efraín “N”, both Venezuelan nationals, of being involved in drug trafficking.

Members of the Orion Group of the Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC), made the arrests after seeing them publicly handling bags of marijuana. Police were performing security patrols in Villas del Mar when they came across the men in a grocery store parking lot.

“The incident occurred in the parking lot of the Chedraui Villas del Mar store, located on Tules Avenue at the corner of Prolongación Kabah Avenue of the Villas del Mar subdivision, where the corresponding inspection was carried out,” they reported.

During the inspection, police said they found 45 small transparent plastic bags containing a green plant material resembling marijuana, 33 small transparent plastic bags containing clear solid fragments resembling crystal methamphetamine, and two cell phones.

They also found them in possession of 87 bank cards, and three bank terminals.

Both men were arrested and their illegal items seized. Police also towed their gray Toyota Avanza with Quintana Roo license plates. Both are facing drug trafficking charges. Police did not comment on the bank cards.
