Cancun, Q.R. — A collision between a private pickup truck and a company van left the van on its side. Transit Police of Cancun were sent to José López Portillo Avenue around noon Saturday to deal with the intersection mishap.
According to information, one of the vehicles ran a stop sign, failing to stop at the marked intersection. While flying through, they collided with the second vehicle that clipped a scooter. The impact of the initial hit sent the company van onto its side after the driver lost control and made contact with the center median.
He was taken to hospital with undisclosed injuries. The pickup truck suffered front end damage on the passenger’s side. The scooter did not appear damaged. Neither of those two drivers were injured.
Two tow trucks eventually arrived to remove the truck and van and free up the road to alleviate backed up traffic.
