Used car lot owner gunned down in Cancun for refusing to pay extortionists

Cancun, Q.R. — A man in his twenties was gunned down in Cancun Thursday for refusing to pay extortionists. The 27-year-old owner of a used car lot in SM 17 was shot to death in broad daylight after refusing to pay their demand for floor rights.

Witnesses told police that two people, a man and a woman, arrived on a motorcycle. The man pulled out a gun and began shooting at the car lot owner, who tried to flee the round of bullets aimed at him.

Witnesses said that he was hit and then then shot several times at close range before the pair fled. The decease man, Alan Andrés N, was found under a car already dead by responding paramedics.

Cancun police detectives were part of the responding team to the Thursday afternoon shooting. There are no suspects in custody.
