Three vehicle crash injures seven Cancun combi passengers

Cancun, Q.R. — Seven passengers from inside a Cancun combi were injured in a three vehicle crash. The accident happened Saturday night on Francisco I. Madero Avenue and 113th Street.

Personnel from the Traffic Directorate reported the crash was caused by the driver of a private truck who was allegedly driving while intoxicated. The driver is alleged to have blown through the stop sign at a marked intersection, colliding with the public transport van (combi).

Paramedics provided first aid to the injured combi passengers, none of whom required a hospital transfer.

A third vehicle, a hatchback that was traveling through the area at the time of the accident was also affected. There were no injuries reported from those inside the third vehicle.

Municipal Police cordoned off the area and arrested the driver of the pickup. All three vehicles were towed.
