Two tourists who fell from Cancun balcony taken to city hospital

Cancun, Q.R. — Two visitors who fell from the fifth floor of their condo in the Cancun Hotel Zone were taken to hospital with undisclosed injuries. The two tourists, a man and a woman from the State of Mexico, fell to the ground after breaking through the railing of their balcony.

In an information brief, authorities said the incident happened at 7:04 p.m. Monday when support was requested to attend to people who fell from the fifth floor of a building located at kilometer 12 of Kukulkán Avenue.

When medical personnel arrived at Villas Marlins Condominium, they found the two adults who had fallen. They were transferred to a private clinic in the center of the city.

The injured were identified as 26-year-old Nancy YMA and 29-year-old Gerardo MM, both from Atizapán Zaragoza in the state of Mexico. Both were staying in tower two of the condo at the time of the accident. Police did not provide an official statement on how the couple fell from the balcony.
