Cancun, Q.R. — An early morning traffic accident along Luis Donaldo Colosio Boulevard in Cancun left three with injuries. Authorities responding to the 9:30 a.m. report of a two vehicle crash arrived to find a company deli truck and National Guard unit involved.
Two members of the National Guard from inside the crushed truck were injured, as was the driver of the company deli truck. All three were transferred to hospital for treatment. The two National Guard elements were reported to be in serious condition.
Preliminary reports say the driver of the National Guard unit was speeding down the Boulevard when he suddenly lost control. His truck ended up in oncoming traffic on the other side of the Boulevard, which is where he collided with the driver of the deli truck.
Members of the Cancun Fire Department were called in to help with cleaning detail due to leaked fluids on the roadway. Both vehicles were heavily damages and written off.
