Cancun, Q.R. — The Attorney General of the state reports the arrest of three males for extoring a local Cancun business.
The state made the announcement of their arrests after an investigation into the extortion of a business in zona del Crucero. They report that police officers assigned to the Anti-Extortion Unit captured three men, two of them minors.
The two adolescents, A.A.P.E. and L.A.D., were arrested in flagrante delicto when they presented themselves to collect floor right money from an employee in SM 64. Subsequently, the third subject identified as Fernando C, was captured. Fernando is alleged to have intimidated the victim through telephone calls in order to obtain money and food as a result of extortion.
Police say their investigation establishes that one of them, A.A.P.E., is a probable participant in events that occurred on June 20 in a taco shop in SM 64 when he arrived in the company of another subject and shot two people at the scene with a firearm.
The two youths were placed at the disposal of the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office for Girls, Boys and Adolescents, where the criteria established by law will be applied to take them to the specialized court to face criminal proceedings.
Fernando C was placed at the disposal of the public prosecutor.
