Two men aboard Cancun taxi arrested after shooting pedestrian

Cancun, Q.R. — Police in Cancun made two arrests after a man aboard a taxi allegedly shot a pedestrian. The shooting happened in the La Joya subdivision when a man, who works as a Cancun city taxi driver, was hit in the leg by a bullet while walking.

After a call to emergency services, an ambulance arrived to transport 47-year-old Carlos N to hospital. Police then began a search for the shooter and getaway car, which the victim described as a Cancun taxi.

The vehicle was located in the area of Cielo Nuevo and intercepted by police. Inside the taxi, police detained the driver and his male passenger. The victim, Carlos N, is a taxi driver assigned to the Cancun Hotel Zone. A possible motive for the shooting was not disclosed.
