Two handcuffed after firing at Cancun police

Cancun, Q.R. — Two armed individuals were handcuffed by police in the southern section of Cancun after a chase and gun fire lead to their arrest.

Elements of the Municipal Public Security of Benito Juárez reported the arrest of the pair on Nichupté Avenue in region 96 of Cancun. Police say the two males were traveling in a black car in SM 513 and failed to stop at the request of police, who reported the pair acting suspiciously.

Instead of stopping, the driver of the car sped off, leading police on a pursuit that ended in Region 96, but not before at least two shots were fired at police. The pair were taken into custody. Their identity has not been revealed.
