Two detained for mother, daughter murder in Cancun

Cancun, Q.R. — Two men have been arrested for the murders of two women in Cancun. The announcement was made by the Attorney General of the State who reported the detainment of Abismar P and Efraín P Sunday afternoon.

The pair were taken into police custody after they were identified on C4 surveillance cameras. Attorney General Oscar Montes de Oca said their investigation revealed that the two men lived with the victims, a 42-year-old mother and her 20-year-old daughter, before their deaths.

The bodies of the two women were discovered by neighbors in a treed area in the Valle Verde neighborhood around 7:30 a.m. Sunday. Oscar Montes de Oca says Abismar and Efraín were captured by a C4 camera installed a short distance from where the bodies were found.

In a brief message, the prosecutor indicated that there are other pieces of evidence that place the two men as the probable perpetrators of the double murder.

“The aggressors lived with the victims in a home before depriving them of their lives,” he said. The bodies of the women were found on an access road to Valle Verde about four kilometers from José López Portillo Avenue where they were allegedly stoned to death.
