Two citizen recycling locations to reopen in Cancun

Cancun, Q.R. — The Benito Juárez City Council, through the General Directorate of Ecology, reports the reopening of two recycle centers for citizens in the city of Cancun.

Council says on June 13, the 2020 Recycle program will resume following healthy distance protocols. Two collection centers will be opened, one located in the parking lot of the Ministry of Education on Bonampak Avenue (between Chichén Itzá avenue and calle José García de la Torre) and the second in the parking lot of the Gran Plaza on Chilam Balam Street (between calle Chilam Balam entre Av. Nicupté and Tecnológico). Both recycle sites will be open from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

In order to prevent crowds, access to the collection point will be limited to five vehicles at a time. Personnel from the Municipal Traffic Department will be on site to control road traffic.

To participate, the Ecology Directorate says a single person should deliver the waste to the site while operating personnel collect the waste directly from your vehicle. They say citizens need to respect the order of access to the collection point and deliver clean and sorted waste to speed up the collection process.
