Cancun, Q.R. — A transport van and private car were destroyed early Friday after crashing in the hotel zone. City Transit were on the scene shortly after 5:00 a.m. after being made aware of the two vehicle collision.
The two vehicles hit one another at kilometer 6 of Kukulcán Boulevard in the Cancun Hotel Zone as the result of a bad merge attempt by the driver of the van, witnesses told police.
The early morning accident left one person injured after the van crossed over a lane during the merge and was struck by the car. The driver of the car was able to walk away, however, the driver of the van was transferred to city hospital.
The accident was cleared from Cancun’s busy Boulevard before morning rush hour traffic started in the hotel zone.
