Cancun, Q.R. — An accident that occurred on 20 de noviembre Avenue of Cancun left two police officers and a private citizen injured. There was also considerable damage to at least three vehicles, including two patrol cars.
The collisions happened while two of the involved units were in pursuit of criminals. The drivers are reported to have been traveling at high speeds when they failed to slow down for topos or traffic lights.
According to witnesses, one of the patrol units was traveling on 20 de Noviembre Avenue, while the other was traveling on 18th Street from where they crashed. One of the involved units then hit a car.
A woman from inside the private vehicle was transferred to a Cancun hospital for medical evaluation. One of the involved police officers was also injured. The affected units were towed to the impound by Cancun Transit.
