Two arrested in Cancun for obstructing police work

Cancun, Q.R. — Two people have been taken into police custody after they were accused of harboring fugitives from police who were searching the area after a man was shot dead.

The arrests happened in Bonfil after a man was shot and killed while driving his vehicle on Guayacán Avenue. The shooting resulted in a Red Code that lead numerous officers to the area in search of those responsible.

The vehicle alleged involved in the shooting was spotted in the Alfredo V. Bonfil delegation with witnesses saying those from the vehicle fled hiding inside a house. While those believed responsible for the shooting had managed to flee, two youths inside the home were arrested for obstructing police work.

Reports say a 20-year-old male identified as Ismael M.J. and an 18-year-old female identified as Xiomara A, were taken into custody for hindering police work as they allegedly would have facilitated the concealment of the shooters.
