Two arrested in Cancun airport trying to board Canadian flight with false identification

Cancun, Q.R. — Two people of unknown nationality were arrested at the Cancun International Airport after they attempted to board a flight to Canada using false identification.

The man and woman were taken into custody by federal police after each presented a Mexican voter card and Mexican passport as their identification. Immigration officers noticed the lack of hologram security seals in the pieces of ID and pulled the couple aside.

The pair were trying to board a flight to Montreal, Quebec.

Instituto Nacional de Migración (INM) officers informed federal police who arrived and placed the pair under arrest. They were held for presentation before the State Attorney.
