Tulum, Q.R. — Several highway security arches with cameras are now operational around the municipality of Tulum. Tulum Mayor Diego Castañón Trejo began the project earlier this year.
In April, construction for the arches began over the municipality’s busy highway system. Since then, several arches have been erected, outfitted with security cameras capable of reading license plates.
The cameras are monitored by the Control, Command and Communication Center (C2) of Tulum. That Centre is currently undergoing an expansion into a C4, adding more security capabilities to the municipality.
The newly operational arches join the 108 cameras of the C2 of Tulum that are already up and running.
The municipal government of Tulum, headed by Mayor Diego Castañón, is working to reinforce security throughout the municipality as part of the progress toward a safer Tulum.
