Cancun, Q.R. — The Green Units of Cancun towed a truck and arrested its driver after being caught dumping fish products. The pickup was taken to the city corral after patrolling Green Unit personnel found the driver dumping garbage in a public green area.
“The Benito Juárez City Council, through the decentralized organization Integral Solid Waste Solution (SIRESOL) by means of its Green Units, maintains its commitment to caring for the environment by advising and sanctioning citizens who mishandled solid waste on public roads,” the city said in a statement.
While carrying out their patrols SIRESOL personnel located two trucks. One of which was loaded with 400 kilos of garbage and escorted to the city dump to ensure correct disposal.

However a second vehicle was caught red-handed dumping in a city green area on Las Torres Avenue in Supermanzana 528. With the support of the Municipal Secretariat for Citizen Security and Transit (SMSCyT), the driver of the white pickup was arrested and the truck towed.

“While on Las Torres Avenue in Supermanzana 528, two merchants were identified throwing waste from their fish shop in a green area. For this reason their rights were read to them, the corresponding report was drawn up and they were transferred to the SMSCyT offices to carry out the corresponding procedures,” the city said.
