Cancun, Q.R. — Three people arrested for a Cancun hardware store robbery are believed responsible for other similar area robberies. On Tuesday, police in Cancun pulled over a pickup truck in which the three were traveling.
They were located after a hardware store robbery using the city’s surveillance system. Once pulled over, police found numerous stolen items inside their vehicle. When they ran the plates of the truck, they found that it too, was reported as stolen.
Arrested was 46-year-old José N from Chetumal, 33-year-old Judith N from Coahuila and 40-year-old Alfredo N originally from the State of Mexico. The vehicle they were driving was reported stolen from the state of Yucatan.
They are being investigated for at least one other robbery made to the same hardware store chain in Cancun where 128,000 peso in various electronic products were stolen. Police have said that one of the detained, José N, has a previous Cancun arrest record for bribery and robbery in 2015, and another robbery in 2019.
