Trio arrested likely related to Cancun robbery

Cancun, Q.R. — Elements of the Quintana Roo Police succeeded in arresting three people found with drugs and two firearms. They report those arrested are also likely related to a robbery in Cancun.

Police report the arrests of 23-year-old Guillermo N from Campeche, 22-year-old Katia N from Yucatan and 37-year-old Edgar Eduardo N from Chetumal, took place Friday at 11:45 a.m. in SM 107 of Cancun.

The three were detained in the Paraíso Maya subdivision after they were found carrying a 22-caliber revolver firearm, a compressed air gun and 10 marijuana sachets. They, along with the items and the Nissan car they were driving, were seized for authorities.

The trio are said to have allegedly participated in the armed robbery of Notary 18 last January in Cancun when video shows three armed subjects entering the office and stripping staff of cash.
