Cancun, Q.R. — A two vehicle collision in the Cancun Hotel Zone generated a great deal of backed-up traffic while authorities attended to the situation. The accident happened just before noon Friday when a car and a water truck collided at kilometer 14 of Kukulcán Boulevard.
Emergency personnel were quick to arrive where they located both damaged vehicles blocking two of the three available lanes. The water truck was found mounted on the meridian while the car was found with substantial front-end damage.
Elements from the Hotel Zone’s Traffic Directorate were on site to determine the causes of the accident as well as who was responsible. Both the water truck driver, Hilbert N and the driver of the car, Fernando N, were taken to hospital.
