Cancun, Q.R. — A three year old girl has died after falling into a residential pool in Cancun. The little girl, who is reported to be of Canadian nationality, died in hospital not long after being admitted.
She was taken to Cancun hospital just before midnight after being discovered in the pool unresponsive. She was attended to in an emergency room of a private hospital who pronounced her shortly after arriving.
The child, A.S., was pronounced at 21 minutes after midnight Thursday. Doctors say she died of asphyxia by immersion. Police arrived to take a statement from her father, 35-year-old Ahmed “N”.
