Cancun, Q.R. — A chain reaction between three vehicles has snarled traffic and sent at least one to hospital. Cancun Transit were on scene Tuesday morning in response to reports of the three vehicle crash at Kilometer 10.5 of the Cancun Hotel Zone.

At the 10:30 a.m. scene, police found a bus, truck and van heading west had collided. The driver of the van was injured and attended to by paramedics before being transferred to hospital. At the time of reporting, police had not yet confirmed how many were injured, however, they did issue a brief release.
“The Traffic Department reports that on Kukulkán Boulevard at Km 10.5 in front of Park Royal heading from east to west (Airport-Km 0), an accident occurred between a soft drink truck, a personnel transport van and a bus with injured people. Traffic officers and emergency units are working at the scene,” Policia de Cancun posted.

Traffic rapidly intensified with the three vehicles completely closing the road. Cancun Transit did not comment on exactly how the three vehicles collided or on a possible cause for the mid-morning crash.

Emergency services transferred the injured to hospital. An exact number of people hurt was not provided.
