Cancun, Q.R. — Three men believed responsible for firing upon a private car outside a Cancun home have been detained. The three were taken into police custody after shooting at the car then attempting to flee in a taxi.
Several neighbors were woken to the sound of the nighttime gunfire. Emergency services were notified of the 1:20 a.m. incident. Police arrived and were successful in locating a taxi along Chac-Mool Avenue. Two blocks later, the taxi was stopped.
Inside were the three armed men. The gunfire toward the car was allegedly part of a warning against the homeowner. Police have not identified those detained or provided details regarding the cause of the shooting.
