Cancun, Q.R. — Three people have been arrested for vehicle theft in Cancun. On Wednesday, the FGE reported the arrests of Hugo “N”, Yerli Lizbeth “N” and Oswalt Alexander “N”.
According to the FGE (Fiscalía General del Estado), “the first of them is the alleged leader of a criminal cell dedicated to the sale of drugs and vehicle theft.”
The trio were taken into custody by agents of the Investigative Police of the State Attorney General’s Office as probable perpetrators of the crime of vehicle theft with violence that occurred in the area of Huayacán Avenue in Cancun.
After various intelligence, technology and cabinet tasks, the Investigative Police managed to secure all three on Lázaro Cárdenas Street in the Alfredo V. Bonfil, a suburb town of Cancun.
Police arrested Hugo “N” and Yerli Lizbeth “N” while traveling aboard a JAC model truck, while Oswalt Alexander “N” was captured aboard a motorcycle. The truck had a theft report dated September 14 of this year. The motorcycle was also found to be stolen on August 29.
Last week, a man was arrested on Avenida de los Colegios for this same crime when he was stopped in a stolen Ford Silverado pickup truck.
The FGE added that “investigative work carried out shows that Hugo “N” leads, along with another person, a criminal cell dedicated to the sale of narcotics and vehicle theft in the area of the Alfredo V. Bonfil delegation and Huayacán Avenue. They have Yerli Lizbeth “N” and Oswalt Alexander “N” as their workers.”
The stolen truck and motorcycle were captured on video and disseminated through social networks.
