Three jailed after Cancun police find handgun, drugs

Cancun, Q,R, — Three people who were located armed and with drugs were taken into Cancun police custody. The two men and one woman were arrested from their vehicle Wednesday after police noticed it parked along the the Cancún-Mérida highway in the municipality of Benito Juarez.

As police neared, they were able to see the trio handling bags of drugs. A review revealed 181 doses of crack and 129 of marijuana along with a loaded handgun, handcuffs, drug paraphernalia and cash in both Mexican peso and USD.

Quintana Roo police say Víctor N, Cassandra N and Lisandro N are in police custody and are being investigated by the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) for drug-related crimes.
