Cancun, Q.R. — At least three people were transferred to hospital after a crash near the Cancun International Airport. The accident happened around 12:30 p.m. Friday between two passenger transport vehicles.
The accident created traffic chaos as motorists heading out of the airport toward the federal highway were severely slowed.
Three people were transferred to Cancun hospital by ambulance for undisclosed injuries. The driver of the taxi involved, along with two of his passengers, were reported as the injured.
One vehicle involved in the accident was located in nearby roadside brush, while the second was crushed and pushed into the center median of the road. Police were on site to deal with the accident as well as direct congested traffic.
