Cancun, Q.R. — Three people have been taken into police custody for the Saturday morning murder of a political campaign coordinator. On Sunday afternoon, the State Attorney General (FGE) released information on the arrests of Marlon Oswaldo “N”, Isaías Abdiel “N” and María Fernanda “N”.
“After technological and field investigation work, the State Attorney General’s Office managed to arrest two men and a woman for their possible relationship in events that could constitute the crime of qualified homicide to the detriment of Manuel Santiago “N”, who was killed at dawn on May 11 of this year in Cancun,” the agency said in a statement.
According to the FGE (Fiscalía General del Estado), “the motive for the homicide confirms the line of investigation that it was personal revenge, since the victim allegedly committed an illegal act in the year 2022.”
The FGE has reported the plot was that of Isaías Abdiel “N” and that the taxi involved was driven by Marlon Oswaldo “N” who had another person on board who is reported to have fired the shots.
According to the FGE, Isaías Abdiel “N” and María Fernanda “N” were traveling in a separate white vehicle from where they were monitoring the victim’s home. It was allegedly from that vehicle “that they informed the occupants of the taxi of the moment in which they could act.”
Local authorities have not provided information on the fourth person, the person in the taxi who is alleged to have pulled the trigger.
