Third suspect wanted in Tulum murder and dismemberment captured

Tulum, Q.R. — Police have arrested a Tulum suspect wanted in connection with a recent homicide. Emir “N” was picked up for his alleged participation in the January 20 murder and dismemberment of a man in Aldea Tulum.

The State Attorney General’s Office, through the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office for Combating Homicide, executed an arrest warrant for a male individual for his alleged involvement of aggravated homicide, the FGE reported.

“The events for which Emir “N”, alias “Ropero” had an arrest warrant occurred in the early hours of January 20 of this year, when together with Eduardo “N”, alias “El Chaparro” and/or “Comandante” and José Emmanuel “N”, alias “La Loba”, who are currently facing charges for the same crime, took the male victim out of an apartment located in Aldea Tulum.

“After this, they took him to a lodging house located in the irregular colony Invasión 2 de Octubre where Emir “N” allegedly shot him with a firearm in the head then together they dismembered the body and put it in black bags, which they abandoned on the corner of Parque Rotario in this municipality,” police detailed in an official statement.

“According to investigations, the motive for the murder was that the victim was a member of a violent criminal group dedicated to drug dealing, unlike the one to which the two defendants and the arrested man belong. Likewise, Emir “N”, alias “Ropero”, is identified as the head of hitmen for a criminal group,” they added.

In January, Eduardo “N”, alias “Chaparro” and/or “Comandante” were arrested for their part in the murder and dismemberment.
