Cancun, Q.R. — The bodies of two people have been recovered from a Cancun beach after being dragged by the current. Both were swimming at Playa Gaviotas in the Cancun Hotel Zone when they were swept out to sea.
A search for both swimmers was implemented, however, the bad weather damped efforts. It wasn’t until later that night that the first body was found. One body was found washed up on the beach just before midnight.
The second swimmer was found the next morning, Tuesday, around 7:30 a.m. washed up on shore approximately 500 meters from where they entered the water. Reports say one of the now-deceased was from Colombia. The second was from Mexican state of Coahuila.
