Teens recruited on Facebook rescued from Cancun prostitution ring

Cancun, Q.R. — Two minors have been rescued from a prostitution ring operating in Cancun by six adults recruiting on Facebook. Police found the two teens who are “alleged victims of human trafficking in the form of prostitution.”

It was not until Tuesday that the State Attorney General’s Office released information regarding the weekend operation.

“As a result of investigative work, the arrest of Gaspar Iban “N”, Isela “N”, Zenaida “N”, Ponciana “N” and Eduardo David “N” was achieved in a motel, and Israel “N” in the house where they held the minors,” the Agency reported.

Five adults were taken into custody from the motel during the operation located on López Portillo Avenue and another in a home in the Villas Otoch subdivision.

Personnel from the Prosecutor’s Office Specialized in Human Trafficking carried out the investigations where it was determined that one of the criminal gang members offered sexual encounters with underage women, they said.

“They had a catalog with photographs of the teenagers and the prices for their services,” the FGE detailed. One of the underage teens was rescued from the motel and the other from inside the private home who was being guarded by Israel “N”

According to the FGE, both minors were recruited by the adults through Facebook.
