Cancun, Q.R. — A 68-year-old taxi driver and his three passengers were injured in an early morning accident Friday. Cancun firefighters and paramedics arrived at the scene after two vehicles collided.

The taxi and private car collision left four people injured on Bonampak Avenue during rush hour Friday morning.
Initial reports indicate that the taxi driver was traveling García de la Torre Avenue when he attempted to cross the intersection at Bonampak Avenue. In the intersection, he was met by a private car.
The 8:00 a.m. crash caused central Cancun drivers a slow-go along one of the city’s main arteries. Both vehicles were heavily damaged and left inoperable.
After firemen attended to the scene and paramedics transferred the injured to hospital, tow trucks were brought in to remove the wrecked cars. There is no word on who was responsible for the accident.
