Cancun, Q.R. — A targeted attack against a residential bar in Cancun has left one dead and three in hospital. The shooting took place inside the Babilonia bar Wednesday night. Gunmen reportedly entered the establishment in region 228 and took aim at a specific table.
Local authorities responded with a deployment of security forces Wednesday in response to the shooting. Armed marina personnel assisted police at the Kabah Avenue and Niños Héroes bar location. Inside, four people were found laying on the floor with bullet wounds. One of them, a woman, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The others, two women and one man, were taken to hospital. According to available information, one of the shot women was the target. It is not known if it was the deceased woman or one of the others at the table.
Police have not announced the arrests of any suspects or provided a possible motive.
