Cancun, Q.R. — Cancun became the first city in the country to connect with TAP Air Portugal after it made its initial landing Sunday. The airline now connects the Cancun, Riviera Maya region with Lisbon.
TAP Air Portugal inaugurated the Lisbon-Cancun route Sunday, taking off from the Humberto Delgado Airport in the Portuguese capital at 10:45 p.m. on Saturday, to arrive in the city of Cancun at 4:00 p.m. Sunday.
“The unsurpassed air connectivity that Cancun offers is a determining factor that contributes to the recovery of the economy, so thanks to initiatives by international companies such as TAP, who show their interest and confidence in the actions we undertake in favor of tourism,” said Darío Flota Ocampo, general director of the Council of Tourism Promotion of Quintana Roo.
“We will give welcome to an outstanding summer season,” he added.
