Cancun, Q.R. — A man was killed in the parking lot of a commercial plaza in Cancun Sunday after he was run over by a vehicle that was hit by an SUV. The accident occurred at 12:24 p.m. on Nichupté Avenue in SM 51.
According to the traffic report, several vehicles and a now-deceased man were involved in the incident. The report specified that the driver of the SUV, identified as 65-year-old María del CJP, hit four parked cars and a man who was passing by, while attempting to reverse.
The report specifies that the driver, when making a reverse movement, collided with a parked car projecting it into another, whihch continuing its trajectory, hit a third unit, running over a pedestrian and causing his death. While still attempting to reverse, she hit a fourth parked vehicle, which then collided with a public telephone booth.
The deceased has been identified as an elderly man (no official age provided), Don Marion. The incident was reported to Emergency 911.
