Cancun, Q.R. — Three suspects have been taken into custody on warrants for the 2022 kidnapping of a woman. Jonathan “N”, Víctor Alfonso “N” and Juan Francisco “N” are in police custody for demanding seven million pesos for her release.

In a statement, police said the three suspects “allegedly deprived the victim of her liberty on December 18, 2022, when she was leaving the Social Reintegration Center of Cancun with her son after visiting a relative inside the prison.
“After detaining the victim, those under investigation demanded seven million pesos for her release. The investigation into this incident indicates that it is related to drug dealing,” police reported.
The victim filed an official complaint which started an investigation by the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office for Combating Kidnapping and Extortion Crimes to determine their whereabouts.
The three individuals were arrested and placed at the disposal of the requesting authorities. Their legal status will be determined within the prescribed timeframe.
