Cancun, Q.R. — A two vehicle accident involving a motorcycle has claimed the life of one teen. The driver of the motorcycle, a 16 year old male, was reportedly speeding the wrong way down a one way street when he hit a car head on.
The impact threw his passenger, a 17 year old female, off the bike and onto the pavement. Police were notified of the accident that happened around 4:00 a.m. Sunday on Nichupté Avenue.
Responding officers requested an ambulance. Paramedics confirmed the death of the female passenger. The young male driver was transferred to hospital in critical condition.
The driver of the car hit was not seriously injured. Local media reports say the motorcycle driver was attempting to flee police at the time of the accident.
