Cancun, Q.R. — Transit police in Cancun were called to deal with an overturned garbage truck Friday night. Officers arrived to find the large city vehicle laying on its side.
Other motorists reported the incident to Emergency 911 after the speeding truck overturned. Responding police requested paramedics to attend to the two injured city workers from the back of the truck.
Witnesses told police that the driver of the unit was speeding and lost control, which left the truck on its side. The two crew from the back of the unit were not seriously injured.
A large tow truck was called to upright and remove the garbage truck in order to free up the blocked lane for traffic. The driver of the unit was apparently running a garbage collection route at the time of the accident.
